Access The Abyss: Simpler Controls+
Clarity + Accessibility
Thank you once again for the feedback! The last update definitely improved the experience and I was pleased that people could finally complete the entire game without help. This update is meant to add a touch more clarity to some red pedestal encounters and offer more accessible control schemes.
Three types of players will appreciate this update most:
- Those who don’t really play games much.
- Those who require single-handed or fewer inputs.
- Those who are fond of Myst and Riven.
First person shooter controls aren’t for everyone. You can now click in the direction you wish to walk, much like the classic Myst games. This means fewer inputs are necessary. Additionally, you can adjust look sensitivity now to better suit your own natural movement. If you get stuck looking too far up or down, the Auto Look Ahead will assist.
Open the main menu, go to Settings, and adjust the following:
- Click to Walk
- Auto Look Ahead
- Look Sensitivity
Future Updates
This is a very fun project to work on and I’d love to add story elements. If people show interest and find the gameplay fun, I’d love to continue work by making further updates at least one or two more times.
So let me know about your experience with Abyss and tell your friends, too.
